The Dark Magician Girl
If you are one of the millions who watched the cartoon series, then you probably already know about Yugi’s Dark Magician. A few players reading this article may even have entire decks formed around Black Chaos or Dark Magicians. If you happen to have either deck, and you will most likely want to be sure that you own another card or your dueling deck: The Dark Magician Girl.
The Dark Magician Girl can and may be the perfect card to compliment your magician based deck. The reason that the dark magician girl card is so strong isn’t because it starts with 2000 attack power, it can also gain attack power through a special ability. This special ability is to raise it’s attack power by 300 for all the magician cards in both your and your opponent’s graveyards.
Picture yourself with a magician deck in hand dueling another player, who is playing with a magician deck. Playing this card after a few magician cards have hit the graveyard can help your Dark Magician Girl easily break 3000 attack power and become a super powerful monster.
Even though this card might be rare, it will often be more than worth paying a little extra to put into your deck and add to your arsenal.
Clearly a more powerful card, the dark magician starts with more power than the girl version, but it also increases attack power for all dragon cards that have hit the graveyard as well as magician cards. However playing both cards will often work in your benefit, because they work as a good combination since they can each make each other stronger. Having one card or the other will make you want to consider getting the other because they work so well together.
The chaos magician cards are even stronger. Despite the fact that these magicians have higher starting attack power, losing them during a duel will simply add 300 attack power to your magician girl. Using these magicians first can be a strong way to open an attack while using your Dark Magician Girl to bat clean up after losing them, and make her comparably as strong as each of the Chaos Magicians. Then you can throw in your Dark Magician and have an even higher attack power!
There are obviously many different strategies for playing magician cards in combination, but you should be more than willing to play around and find a strategy that works best for you.
