Toys That Could Be Sexist (Part 1)

It would seem there is always a fight over some stupid thing. Whether it is racism, sexism, are you too fat, are you too thin, the argument has even moved on to toys. Many people are complaining that the media is putting sexist ideas into the minds of children. It it really plausible that this can be happening or is it all just nonsense? These are the ones that are constantly causing problems for people.

Doctors and Nurses

This game is one of the first games many young children will play. It has become very obvious that it is mainly women complaining about these things and this is why. The doctor is always seen to be the male figure and of course the nurse female.

This is the target audience it doesnt matter as it is doesnt have to be their only audience? The thing is, the nirses outfit is made to look funny if a boy puts it on but the doctors outfit could really fit either of them which means surely the boy is losing out? A lot of people actually forget about the children and just choose this as an excuse to try and get things banned, girls are more interested in being nurses at a young age.

Playing this game does not shape your career in anyway at all,if the child is that interested in being a doctor she will go to college for it.

Pirates

Even Walt Disney think that boys should be pirates over girls. Is it right to say a girl cannot be a pirate? Many people are taking this out of proportion saying that it isnt fair that their little girl cannot be a pirate, companies arent saying that at all they just know most girls want to be princesses.

Does it really matter what gender plays with a Barbie doll or Action Man, all is revealed in part two.

Don’t fall into the power of the media; you are the parents you can choose what Christmas toys to buy your children.
